Enjoy the benfits of working with a teacher of the Pilates method trained and certified in the Eve Gentry lineage by Virginia Nicholas M.A., R.N., not a conveyor belt style instructor.

Holly Thompson is a Comprehensive Pilates Teacher, certified by Pilates Core Integration and mentored by Virginia Nicholas, M.A., R.N. She opened a record store in San Francisco in 1994 and His n Hers Pilates in 2009. Holly’s family are entrepreneurs.

Teaching in the Eve Gentry lineage of Pilates emphasizes the restorative and rehabilitative benefits of Pilates. Eve Gentry was a modern dancer who helped found the Dance Notation Bureau in New York City and later established in 1991 with Joan Breibart and Michele Larsson the Institute for the Pilates Method in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was hand picked by Joe Pilates to be one of his protégés, being an original disciple of Joeseph Hubertus Pilates, and a master teacher of his technique to generations of instructors.

“It is great to see when everything clicks and people just get it in their bodies.”  & “People stick with the Pilates, because it just works.” –  Holly T.

Holly knows first hand the benefits of Pilates. She was rehabilitated by her mentor, Virginia Nicholas, after a weight lifting injury. Pilates helps keep her strong and reduces the impact of her Scoliosis. There is no other exercise system that combines the elements of breathing, muscle building,  joint opening, stretching, with fun and choreography that requires no experience to get started! The workouts can be different every time. Even when you work out 3x a week! Warning: Pilates can become habit forming!

The princples of Pilates are defined as:

  • Breath
  • Flow of Movement
  • Control
  • Balance
  • Co-ordination
  • Concentration
  • Centering
  • Precision

“If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young..” – Joeseph H. Pilates

“In 10 sessions you will feel a difference, in 20 you will see a difference and in 30 you will have a whole new body.” – Joeseph H. Pilates
